Refined Market Data for Integrated Sales Processes

For four years, HVB Systems has employed IS.Teledata’s technology to develop and operate their in-house provider multi channel platform PMC. HVB Group’s IT service provider uses the platform to supply different corporate web sites and information systems with market data and financial applications (see illustration).

The web sites and the PMC platform are developed independently by HVB Systems’ software professionals. The IT service provider relies on external suppliers to ensure the continuous availability of up-to-date quote data and individual applications in this infrastructure – and especially on IS.Teledata, Europe’s leading provider of Internet-based financial information systems.

IS.Teledata delivers a customised XML feed to HVB Systems which covers a wide range of current market data and applications. Content encompasses stocks and bonds, money market rates and funds as well as currencies, warrants and certificates. Financial news of leading agencies and detailed portraits of stock companies are also included.

The XML feed thus is much more than just a raw data feed. It has been specifically designed to meet the demands of HVB Systems. Two features stand out: The developers of HVB Systems benefit from the feed’s standardised data structure. Daily programming and initial training save considerable time by using only one data model – rather than complying with specific instrument IDs, programming languages, logic models and protocols for each exchange, data vendor and contributor.

A second advantage of the XML feed is the seamless integration of custom business logic in standardised data streams: User requests prompt IS.Teledata backend systems to create standardised, yet asset-class specific XML output which fits into the financial applications of HVB Group. The feed thus includes full-fledged software components which distinguishes it from conventional raw data feeds.
